Sarah Clarke

Sarah is currently Head of Membership at CharityComms, the professional membership body for those working communications in the charity sector, where she leads the membership, mentoring and digital project teams.

Sarah started off as an arts student, graduating with a BA (Hons) in Fine and Applied Arts from the University of Ulster after spending a year studying business at Agnes Scott College in Atlanta. After completing an MA in Cultural Management at City University, she spent five years working in Chicago at the Chicago Humanities Festival and a specialist arts PR agency. She then worked in marketing and membership roles for a variety of arts and education organisations, including the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.

Sarah is a founding member of Charities Against Hate, a group of more than 40 UK charities working to combat online hate, and continues to volunteer as part of their comms team. She has previously been the Vice-Chair of Home-Start Southwark and a trustee for the Hamelin Trust.

“I am delighted to be a DPF trustee so that I can give something back to the amazing world of dance that was such a big part of my life when I worked at the ISTD. This is a really exciting time for DPF and I hope that my digital and communications experience in particular can help to support the great work the organisation is doing.”
