Guidelines on making an application: please read carefully
Who can apply;
- Dancers, dance teachers and choreographers whose circumstances have been affected due to COVID-19. (see Eligibility Criteria for who we define as an eligible dance professional under this scheme).
- The Fund cannot provide any help towards ongoing business costs or business arrears.
Eligibility criteria;
Evidence of three years or more in total (i.e. 36 months) as a dancer, dance teacher or choreographer in the UK*. Applicants must be able to show that they were recently in paid employment in the dance profession prior to the start of COVID-19 restrictions.
- Dancers and choreographers working in the following dance styles are eligible;
- Classical Ballet
- Contemporary Dance
- Dance sports
- Street Dance
- South Asian Dance
- Dance Teachers teaching in the following dance styles are eligible;
- Classical Ballet
- Contemporary Dance
- Dancesports
- Street Dance
- South Asian Dance
- Modern Theatre Dance
- At least 50%, of your income from the list above must come from your dance employment (within the last three years).
- Applicants with savings of more than £6,000 will not be eligible (unless being held for specific purpose, such as HMRC payment – evidence will be required).
- Applicants must live in the UK, and hold a bank account with an address in the UK.
*Applications from those who have danced, taught or choreographed professionally for under three years in the UK may be considered if COVID-19 has prevented them reaching the three-year threshold (evidence of loss of work preventing them reaching the three-year threshold will be required). D/deaf and/or disabled applicants who apply will be given priority.
